CUSTOM WORK
We love a good design challenge and the chance to explore new territory conceptually. Some of our most interesting work has been inspired by unique commissions, design competitions, and custom projects. If you have a design problem that needs solved, need a uniquely-designed centrepiece installation, or simply wonder if one of our pieces can come in black, we're here to answer your questions. We even do restaurant and bar interiors!

Designed to provide the ultimate maple syrup experience, LEDs inside the polished copper tubes illuminate three grades of maple syrup, projecting their colour and opacity onto the solid maple platter. The droplet-shaped glass vessels are designed both for projecting a clearly defined circle of colour, and for a perfect pouring experience.
For a business client, we produced a modified, nine-foot long Hull lamp and a unique live-edge maple conference table with a custom iron-oxide finish.
A one-off rocking horse, in salvaged urban ash with live-edge seat and cotton rope mane and tail. Commissioned as a gift to new parents.
A sculptural lighting piece installed above the bar as part of the Gladstone Hotel's Come Up To My Room event during TODO14.
Exploring the concepts of rituals, human human-computer interaction, and our responses to disaster, we collected fallen branches from ice-storm-damaged Toronto trees, and one-by-one, twig-by-twig re-assembled them with coloured thread following a algorithm of defined rules interpreted separately by each 'rebuilder'.
When glass ends up in the ocean it is transformed. Wave action tumbles and polishes it smooth against the sand. Just as the sunken and cracked dead hull of a ship becomes the base for reefs and beautiful new life, smashed bottles and other glasswares become precious treasure.
Acernis Luminata was designed for Not Forkchops 2014 and presented during Toronto Design Offsite Festival.
